The return of fond a opened by the Crown for sale and selection during August last shows that one suburban acre of ordinary Crown lands was sold at auction for cash or on deferred payment, and 732 acres of ordinary Crown rural lands, and one acre of land for settlements land. On ordinary Crown lands 7,284 acres were disposed of under the optional system; 233 acres of national endowment lands were disposed of on renewable lease; 37,570 acres of ordinary Crown pastoral runs and 1.730 acres of national endowment pastoral' runs were opened up: 405 acres of primary education endowments, and throe acres of secondary education endowments were leased undr the Public Bodies Leases Act; 112 acres of ordinary Crown lands were leased by auction, and application, and “miscellaneous.”
