MISS CAVELL'S MURDER.
NEWSPAPER COMMENTS
The “Westminister Gazette” says every English man and woman will read Miss Cavell’s story with pride. It is one of a brave and splendid woman scorning subterfuge and ihorror, and with indignation at the cruelty and lack of chivalry in inflicting a savage penalty for a technical offence.
The “Pall Mall Gazette” says, at the moment wihen the German officer was firing his revolver into the unconscious form of the brave woman, he destroyed a life that was untiringly spent in the service of humanity; has compressed into one dramatic picture all that is embodied in a conflict that is convulsing the whole hemisphere. No peace would be tolerable if it failed ot ensure final and complete destruction of a power that is on-truth, justice and mercy under its heel of foulminded arrogance and insatiable oes- | tiality.
