CARNIVAL NOTES.

Tho prizes for this week’s picture entertainments at the King’s Theatre are a silver watch and a gold brooch.
The Genera] Carnval Committee will meet on Wednesday evening next, when some important business will be transacted.
The Mask and Domino Ball, in aid of Miss Pbrde’s candidature, will eventuate at Mataroa to-morrow (Tuesday;
evening.
A rattling fine programme will bo the bill-of-fare at the Town Hall tonight, in favour of Miss Whcnuaroa’s candidature, and the entertainment should attract a crowded house. The programme consists -of songs, recita-, tions, instrumental items,--contortion acts, tango dancing, tableaux, figure marching in fancy ■ costumes, and a humorous boxing- act.
On Wednesday evening next a grand patriotic concert will be given in the Town Hall to assist the Red Cross Candidate. The entertainment will comprise tableaux vivants, songs, recitations, instrumental music, and a number of original war skits. There will also be a beautiful tableau vivant, entitled "Pulaski’s Banner. TT A grand procession will leave the Post OlHce at 7.45 for the scene of festivity, headed by the Taihape Brass Band.
The Taihape pepole will be pleased to learn that there will be a car on the goods train leaving Mataroa at about 4.30 a.m. for Taihape on Wednesday morning next, to bring home any sports who may journey out to the Mask and Domino Ball, where a good time i s assured.
There will also be a carriage on the goods train leaving Ohakune at 5 p.m. on Tuesday for those who travel from the north. It is understood that the Taihape Band will kindly furnish the music.
