A RESCUER ARRESTED.
After pluckily jumping into the Lc; at Waltham Cross and rescuing a girl from drowning, John Pearson, a plum ber, of Enfield, was given some brandy to restore liis circulation. He was overpowered by the spirit, and before he reached home he was arrested and charged with being drunk and incap able. The Cheshunt magistrates, however, considering the circumstances. dismissed the summons.
