A proclamation has been issued deGlaring the Wfclsbach Light Company of Australasia an enemy company. The funeral of the lat. e Mrs Christiana Munro, wife of Mr R. E. Munro, senr., of Tiriraukaua, is advertised to leave the Presbyterian Church, Taihape, to-morrow at 2 p.m. The school time table is as follows: English and Arithmetic, Mondays 7.3.0 to 9.30 p.m.; Dress-making, Tuesdays 7 to 9 p.m.; Woodwork, Shorthand and Typewriting, Thursday 7 to 9 p.m.
A young woman, who arrived from England by the Rimutaka on Saturday, was found to be suffering from hallucination!?, n.nd- was, therefore, not permitted"'to' land."
Thirty-eight Government "assisted" immigrants arrived at Wellington by the Rimutaka on Saturday from London. They were all coming out TO rejoin relatives.

During this week about. 250 to 200 ambuliiice men will go into camp in Pailmerston for a month or six weeks. These men are from all parts of the Dominion. The camp will be commanded by Captain Goldingham and a staff provided by the Wellington district.
Rumour states that a comparatively small increase will be made in the beer tax, but there is not substantial indication yet of what the increase will be, though it seems probable that the method of imposing the beer tax will not be altered.
The Giornale d'ltalia, reporting the losses of the British Army, says they will create a great impression in Italy. Such losses show that the flower of the British nation has volunteered, while the British Fleet keeps the seas clear of even the smallest German mercantile ship, and has bottled up the war fleet at Kiel.
The supporters of Miss Ford, the Red, White, and Blue Candidate, have a banner bearing the names of their supporters • thereon. This banner, is now in Taihape and admirers should lose no time in looking up Mr. O'Callaghan, who will see that their names are inscribed, and alteo furnish all other particulars. The banner is now worth £3O, but deponent sayeth not what it may be worth by the time this goes to press.
The Committee of the Gjymnasium Club decided at a meetiing held last! night, to inaugurate a Gymnasium Carnival, to be held in the Town Hall on a date yet to be decided upon. Tjhe function will be rim in conjunction with the Queen Carnival, and the pi'oceeda will, of course, be in aid of the Wounded Soldiers* Fund. The tickets will be distributed among the several 'committees of the Queen candidates, and the value of the tickets sold by I these committees will be recorded as 1 votes towards their respective candidates.
