NEW SEASON’S HATS.

AT G-. E. LITTLE’S. Mr. G. E. Little claims to make a speciality of outfitting, particularly so in the up-to-dateness of his stock of hats. He has just opened up this season's straws, and he unhesitatingly • declares them to be the freshest, brightest, snappieststyles that are correct for 1915 wear. He has a comprehensive range of sizes in the most approved shapes which are very reasonably priced, more especially so when the excellence of quality is taken into consideration. In his advertisement, Mr. Little advises his customers and friends to see his new goods in headwear.

The selections of Crown lands for July last total 125 in respect of 47,112 xcrcs, the details being as follows: For •ash, 14 selections, comprising 45(5 acres, price realised £548; on deferred payment, none. Ordinary leases (on settlement conditions), 53; area, 18,17(5 acres; annual rental payable, £I,4SS. Small grazing runs, 1; area, 3,060 acres; annual rental, £lßl. Pastoral runs, 4; area, 1,072 acres; annual rental, £6. Miscellaneous leases and licenses, 53; area, 24,339 acres. In July this (year'34,6Bl cwt of beef, valued at £74,608, was exported from flew Zealand, as compared with 79,270 cwt, valued at £115,813, in July, 1914, For the first months of the year the figures were 413,885 cwt, valued at £893,575, as against 379,335, valued at £556,019 for the corresponding period of last year. The seven months, it will be seen, show less than a 10 per cent, increase in quantity, but more than aSO rise in value. In mutton (carcases), July, 1915, shows an increase, more considerable in value than in weight, over July, 1914, while for the seven months there is a considerable decrease in weight, but a slight ris e in value. The figures are: —July, this year, 108.714 cwt, valued at £214,539; July, last year, 96,611 cwt, valued at £146.162. First seven monthg this year, 793,244 cwt, valued at £1,589,780; first seven months last year, 1,004,936 cwt, valued at £1,536,398.
