Black and white and the half-tones in between migiht give a likeness, but they do not present a faithful picture. In the kinemacolor picture, "With the Fighting Forces of Europe," the audience realises at once that the absence !

of colour —Nature's glorious gift to humanity—the ordinrj y "movie" leaves a good! deal to be desired. In this fine picture one gets the precise shade of a horse's skin, brown of the roads. th e dull grey of the mud siloughs, the green of the fields, and th e gcM ; of the sunshine simmering through the trees, and when a phalanx of troops march by, there is the silver flash of sunlight on their bayonets, the flush on their faces, and every detail in their uniform and equipment stands put in its true colour relation.
