GERMANY’S CANINE SPY. ■ The Kaiser has apparently not yet: carried out his threat to arm every dog and cat in Germany. But he has armed the unsuspecting friend of man in his army of spies. A dog who ingratiated himself with the Canadians was found to have ben acting as air. unwitting dispath-bcarer between the German trenches and German spies behind the British line. Why he should have ventured across the shell-swept zone so often may be a mystery f» those who have not observed the inveterate inquisitiveness of the dog and the persistence with which he goes back upon an old trail. In this case the poor beast and all his congeners in the neighbourhood wore instantly shotinnocent victims of German perfidy.
