GOLF.
■ THE TAIHAPE LINKS. Weather conditions seem to indicate that the golf season this year will be short, and members of th e local club seem to have developed new enthusiasm as the result. Last week's bogey match was the most keenly contested competition of the year and several good cards resulted. The best handed in were: W. Dales, 6 up; Hesketh, 5 up; P. Wakeman, 3 up. A technical point arising out of .one of the results handed in necessitates Kome del/ay in declaring the winner. The President's Trophy is to be played for this week, the following be. ing the draw: Eaton plays Henderson; Scott plays Wakeman; Beban plays Dales; Hesketh plays Train; Neagle plays Bray; o'Keef e plays Kef.sall; Garratt plays Champion.
