from various patriotic societies in the Dominion will be held in the Wellington Town Hall on September 15th, to consider a schem e fcr the administration of funds for the benefit of wounded soldiers, sailors and dependents of the fallen. William Huff, one of the men injured by an explosion on the cutter Rosalie, on Saturday, died at the hospital last night. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S SON WOUNDED. AUCKLAND, August 23. Private advices state that Trooper C. McKenzie ,of the Wellington Mounted Rifles, and the younger son of the High Commissioner, has been severely wounded at the Dardanelles. He lost the sight of both eyes, and the "injury is permanent. Trooper Mackenzie is a brother of Dr. Kenneth Mackenzie, of Auckland, and is only .£•' years of age. He went to the front Avith the Main Expeditionary Force. The injury was caused by the bursting of a shell.
