MR. A. R. FANNIN’S REPORT. The rainfall for the month of July was 4.75 inches. Ther e were ten days with rain, and the maximum fall was 1.32 inches on the 21st, followed by 1.17 inche,s on th e 22nd. The average fall for the corresponding month of th e previous nine years is 2.87 inches. The mean maximum tempe|ratulre in the shade for the month was SO.ldeg. F„ and the mean minimum temp, in the shade- 2S.Bdeg. F. on the 31st. The extreme maximum temp, in the shade; was 61deg. F. on the 21st, and th e extreme minimum in the shade was 28.8 deg. F. on the 31st. The mean terrestial radiation (grass) temperatur e was 34.5 deg. F., the minimum being 23.6 deg. F. recorded on the 31st.

The mean ealrth temp, at 2ft. was 16.7 deg. F., ranging from 47.8 on the 24th and 25th to 45.5 on th e 18th and 19th. The mean earth temperature for July of last year was 44.6 deg. F.
