THE LADIES' RETURN.

A GREAT SUCCESS. The danc e given by the Ohutu ladies as a return lately given by the bachelors wa s held last night, and proved, in every way, a brilliant success, and great praise is: due to the ladies for their noble efforts in raising money for our Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Considering the short notice given, the attendance was phenomenal, over 80 couples being present, and provisions made for securing the utmost enjoyment was all that could be desired. The fund will benefit by not less than £7. Spirited bidding was made Cor Mrs Ashton's cake, it eventually realising £3 10/. Messrs Chase, Collins; and Chatfield supplied excellent music, and Mr Ryan's and Mr Kennedy's items were well received. Mr Titter lent a fine lot of nags which made the surroundings gay and were a reminder of the main object for which the function was being held. The thanks are specially du e to all thos e who contributed refreshment Pour little lasses, the Misaefe Kennedy (2), Egans ahd~ Chatfield, realised 10/ by selling 'buttonholes.
