In the last easualty l?sts havs appeared the names of Maoris, and from this it is evident that the native troops have been in action at Callipoli. So far, however, no report has reached the authorities about any fighting in which the Maoris have been concerned. The Defence Minister said to-day that he had no farther in formation than that contained in the casualty lists. COLONEL HENDERSON. WELLINGTON, July 30.' Colonel R. S. H. Henderson, who was recently selected by the Government to be Director of Medical Services in New Zealand, and who is now on the •way to the. Dominion, . will be in receipt of'£l,soo a year. This amount ■wiS include house and all other allowances, except, of course, travelling expenses. The engagemnt is for one year, or for the duration of the war.
