Mutton. In good demand, but prices are firm owing to short supply. Canterbury, 7Jd per lb for best quality light weight; North Island, 7 l-8d for light weight; ewes, 6 9-16 d.

Lamb: Fair demand continues, espe. cially for light weight, even if quality is poor. Canterbury, twos, 81d; heavy weight, moderate supply, BJd; second grade, Bid for light weight; other than Canterbury, 8:, ! d for light weight. Beef: Prim e New Zeland beef cannot be quoted. Chilled hinds 81d; fores 7 l-Bd.' Butter: Market firm, good qualities hi demand, but there is poor demand for inferior quality. Danish, very slow on account of high once, 157/ to 160/; Australian, very little offering, 138/ to 140/; irlsh creamery 140/ to 144/; Siberian, good demand for finest, 128/ to 132/; Argentine 142/ to 144/. Cheese; Market remains depressed, prices declined considerably, transac'ions in cheese limited.
