PIRATES v. MATAROA, A return football match was played on the Taihape ground on Saturday between Mataroa and Pirates. The ground waa in good condition and the attendance was a considerable improvement on the previous match. A good game was witnessed and some fine play was shown. Connolly was the only one who scored for Mataroa, Sinclair failing to convert. Among those who scored for Pirates were Maher, Chase, Hay, and Lenihan. Tidswell converted one try. The game ended: Pirates 17, Mataroa 3. The proceeds were in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, a very satisfactory amount being taken at the gates. .• - ■ A
