TAIHAPE BRASS BAND.
MOST SATISFACTORY MEETING.
A meeting of members of the Taihape Brass Baud was held last even-
nig for the purpose of instilling new life, if possible, into the organisation. There was a good attendance, and several interested were unavoidably absent. Mr. J. 11. Johnson v. as voted to the chair.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Mr. Sherwin, the conductor, tendered his resignation, which, after discussion, was accepted with regret. By unanimous resolution, Mr. J. H. Johnson was asked to take charge, to which he consented till other arranagements could be made.
The chairman urged upon every member the need to do his utmost to keep the band going; lie also hoped that the public would do its share in assuring the assistance of so useful an institution.
After considerable discussion, it was decided to advertise for a bandmaster in newspapers that would bo likely to prove effective. It was unanimously agreed that the band should meet for practice every Thursday evening at 7..'!0. A vote of thanks to the chair closed a most satisfactory meeting.
