At next meeting of Cabinet Mr Black will present a scheme for the establishment of a State meat shop, to supply the public at a cheap rate. In the Assembly Mr Hall stated that he had made inquiries (re the cost of the importation of sugar, and found' he could import black-labour sugar at £22 a ton, but he preferred to keep the colonial companies employees at work at an extra cost of thirty shillings a ton. Mr Bagnall alleged that the butter shortage was produced by over-exportation, which is more than double that of the previous year. It is suggested that a special council of Ministers deal with the food problem.
