MANAWATU'S WINTER SHOW.

♦ ——o This is the month of the annual festival of the dairy farmers of the Manawatu and West Coast, and Secretary Penny, who is just now deep in the final preparations for the Winter Show, assures us that the 1915 festival is going to be as big a success as any of its predecessors. He has just compiled the list of.entries and sent them to the printers.of the catalogue. The war has not affected the entries at all. In fact, there is not a foot of space now available for exhibits. The Machinery Hall will also be fully equipped. In the fruit division—whch has a- new section, grading and packing:—there will be a bigger display than ever. Another new division is that for honey, which will b© under the direction of the Department of Agriculture, and entries for it have come in from both islands. Vegetables, roots, and seeds will exceed all previous Shows, and here again an addition provides for farm displays, for which there are five entres. Poultry entries total over 1000, showing that the interest in this department is better than well maintained. Yet another new and speeial feature will take place in tho open air on the first day (Tuesday, June 23), when Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, the physical drill experts, will direct a mass exhibition by school children. It is going to b« Some Great Show.
