There are a few, and ar very few at that, who wild occasu anally, but these men I lieve would get icha trouble were they in heaven,: The conduct of the troffljps generally is a credit to the men and to New Ze<* iland. Where there are thousands upon thoriaands of men like there ar© here, one- expects to find a few black sheep- and the surprise is that theqe ar e so few. New Zealand I will have nothing to fear in regard to her troo»ps on <jt off the field. Once j again wt. have--bidden farewell to the I New Zealand , .-tifantry, field artillery j and howitzer battery, who have gone j north, presumably to meet the Turks. {The men are la the pink of condition, ' and when thg-y meet the Turks I am ■ sure New Zealand will have every rea- . son to feel p-roud of her boys. The mounted men are still in Egypt. The horses'; ih the battery as well as those used by the mounted men could not be equaifed anywhere in the world, - The horses,- which are now arriving; here with the New Zealaiid troops, . are hot up to the standard of those, animals which we brought away with us in the- main force. With all gear and 3 his rider- a troop horse has 1 to carry , about 13 stone. Ponies are not much - good for our work. We want good . strong- horses.
