DANGER OF A KISS.

The danger that may lurk in a kiss from a soldier home on furlough was emphasised by the Hackney coroner at an inquest on Alexandra H. Tirkensole, .aged ten, of Marward Road, Clapton Park. A verdict of “Death fom spotted fever” was returned. A married sister of the dead girl said that the child had a soldier brother, who had been home from Prance on furlough, who had ben in and out of the placey but had never slept there. The Coroner: But I suppose he kissed and fondled her?—Oh, yes; he was very fond of her. The Coroner: The reason I am asking these questions is because we know there are a number cf spotted fever or- cerebro-spinal meningitis among our soldiers in France. And it is more than likely he carried the germs with him.
