NICHOLLS' PICTURES. Giood audiences attended both the Station Street and the Three Stars Picture Theatres last evening. The famous Australian film, "The Southern Cross," was particularly well received? at Station Street Theatre, and "The. Shattered Tree" wsta equally successful at the Three Stars Theatre. The ' War Budget was more than averagely < good and this also applies to acemitti and comics. To-night the great star pictures will be repeated and the progranima will be erndered particularly interesting witk some high-class films. Despite th« rumours that there arft to be so pictures to-night, Mr. Xicholls assures the public that a high-class programme, as good as ever submitted, will be screened the Station Theatre to-night at the usual hour. A most suitable programme with sacred musi« . will be screened at Station Street Theatre on Sunday evening. TOWN HALL PICTURES. GERMANS REPLUSED BY BRITISH. Last night a fairly large audience witnessed the extra double star programme, with other new films, which were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. To-night an entire change of programme will be made, of which the huge patriotic film, "Saving the Colours," will be the "great outstanding feature. This film is crowded with exciting and thrilling incident and should be seen by everyone interseted in the one great subject with whish the world is now convulsed. Some other very fine films will make up a lengthy and much .more than ordinarily good programme. On Sunday evening sacred musie will accompany the screening of John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress." BARTON BROS.' CIBCTJS AND WILD AUSTRALIA. This popular amusement enterprise opens in Taihape on Monday next, the 26th., with a programme which is entirely new and replete. The combina-, tion of star performers secured for this occasion is claimed to be one of t.h« best yet introduced under one' circus management. There aro forty people with the present show, including some sensational talent. The Wellington Times, commenting on the performance, says:—"As wa« expected.. tins popular circus management was greeted by packed audiences during their season here.
