*OWN HALL ; PICTURES. . "\; At he Town Hall to-night several new pictures will be added to. last sight's programme, which a fairly large -house frequently applauded. This will make to-night's entertainment a still further artistic success. No pic-ture-lover should miss seeing the two great stars, "The Bed Duke" and "The King Repents." A grand matinee will be held on Saturday afternoon so that country visi- 1 tors as well as t„wo residents may tee this splendid programme. .. •••>■ NICHOLAS' PICTURES, "The Southern Cross," at the Sta- i tion Street Theatre, proved a great success, as was evidenced by the applause it called forth. It is an Australian picture play, written and filmed purely by Australians, and it features one- of the cleverest picture actresses in the world. At the Three Btars to-night an entirely new programme will be screened, the star being that great picture known as "The Shattered Tree." It is a vigorous and virile drama, in faet one of Edison's best. It Is a tsle of the cultured East and the rough but manly West, a play set around the robbery of £IO,OOO, with a sweet underplot of a fine love »t«ry. On Saturday afternoon a grand matinee will be held at the Station Street Theatre and also at the Three Stars, when the evening's programmes will be screened.
