A wedding which created much interest was solemnised before a large- Jfc: assemblage* at St. Mary's Church at mid-day yesterday, the contracting par. ties being Cecil Valentine, youngest son of Mrs E. Miller, of Auckland.andr Rebecca Mary (Mollie), second" tfatigh. te r of Mr s H. Beattie, of "Th« Terrace," Taihapie. For years the bride was a very popular member of the drapery staff of Messrs H. D. Bennett and Cc. Father Connolly tied the nuptial knot and Mr A. G. Bridges acted as best man, and Mr A. Aplin gave the bride away. The bride was becomingly attired in white embroidered vcile, and wore the customary veil and orange blossoms and a lovely -hewer bouquet. Miss Eileen Beattie, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and 'wore a dress of silk striped veil 3 and a black velvet hat. She also carried a bouquet. After the ceremony ihe happy cou- # pie and a large number of friends adjourned to the residence cf ths bride's mother, where the usual toasts were enthusiastically honoured at n sumptuous wedding breakfast. Mr arid Mrs Miller laft by the afternoon train en route to Palmerston.
