John Simpson, painter by trade, age 59, was found about midnight by his son lying on the floor of his residence in Newton Road, with his throat cut. A bleed stained ra:sor was near his right hand. The police were informed, but Simpson died in the meantime. BUTTER PRICES RISING. BECAUSE OF CHEESE DEMAND. DUNEDIN, This Day. Butter has risen a penny per pound, the retail prrc e is now 1/5. This is the second rise in a fortnight. The ris« is attributed to abnormal demand for cheese for army supply.
