The course is in good order and there is a large attendance. Results: — First Hack Hurdles Steeplechase.— Agatha 1. Green Nita 2, Merry Guy .'! Ser.: Grey Renown. The winner led a!! the way. Grit .Lawless and Captain Flintgid did not finish. Merry Guy pulled up lame at the finish. Won by n lengtht Time, 5.3 S 3-5. Plunket Nursery Handicap,—Hyginas 1, Three 2, Taringamutii 3. Ser.: Gowanbrae. The winner drew av.'py from the bunched lold and won by :i length Time, 1.1 1-5. AVONDALE RACES. AUCKLAND. This Day. The Avondale Jockey Club's autumn meeting opened in fine weather, tlic course is in good condition. Reults:— Maiden Plate.—Rauri King I,'Gallupin 2, Blue-form 'A. Ser.: Ruination, Goldcateher, Bovnrdin, Miss Avalanchs. Won by three lengths. Time. 1.15 2-5. Jiaven ile Ha nclieap.—Colonado 'J, Loyal Arch 2. Toratora 3. Also started: Lightning, Hailstorm. Hero. W;>rtime, Grissando. Won by a length.
