KILLED WHILE EXCAVATING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, This Day. Alexander Soabright Allison, single, aged 28, a share-milker, was killed by a fall of earth, on Tuesday afternoon, while excavating in a '.gully. THE OAT MARKET. AT A STANDSTILL. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. “We absolutely * decline to touch oats until we get something more definite about the Government’s intentions,” remarked a prominent miller to-day. Inquiries made on account of m'erchants and brokers showed that business on the oat market was practically at a standstill. Uncertainty Concerning /(alfilments cf iconiracts has practically stopped all disaling, although a few sales of Algerians are reported.
