PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
TAIHAPE AND DISTRICT
BELGIAN RELIEF FUND
The secretary of the Belgian and other relief funds in Taihape, Mr Murrell, hereunder publishes a further list of donations. By a casual analysis of the list a few cuts and features are presented which deserve a word of special notice, the first being £4 by the Taoroa Sunday School children. It is a very small place and the number of children limited, still material help to the poor suffering children of Belgium. In each list received it is noticeable that Mr W. McLennan has given a considerable amount of his time as an auctioneer to selling various gifts in kind that needed converting into cash. These are services which only men like Mr McLennan can render. Messrs Dalgety and Co. have also given free assistance in disposing of gift stock. But particularly noticeable is the monthly cheque from the Station employees at Ruanui. These men, from their weekly earnings have donated according to promise another £l6 10s. And, finally, there is the splendid example set to wealthy men by Mr J. F. Studholme, who is contributing £20 a month as long as the war lasts, with a minimum of £25. Following is the list to date:
