The Industrial Court granted an application on behalf of a number of theatre proprietors cancelling the registration of the Musicians’ Union of Australia. (Reed. 10.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day Judge Murray recently sentenced a certain Mr Bernasconi to a year’s Imprisonment a,t Port Moresby for hanging a native boy to a rafter in his store a s punishment. Bernasconi demanded to be heard before a jury. Judge Murray stated that the case, in bis opinion, was one for the High Court. Sir Witn, Irvine supported the appeal, contending that under Federal law, Bernasconi was entitled to a jury. Therefore, he was illegally convicted.
