PLUNKET SOCIETY.

A meeting of the above society was aeld on March sth. Present: Mesdames Nathan (chair), De Latour, Baraett, and the Secretary. Nurse Jones reported that the PlunIcet Rest Room at the Show grounds va s visited by about 50 mothers, who nuch appreciated the comforts provided.

On account of the unusually dry sea. son and consequent dearth of flowers t was finally decided not to hold in autumn flower show this year, but :o hold a bulb show in the fourth sveek in October instead.

Owing to the igreat distress among :he wives and widows of soldiers at the front, the women of England have appealed to the Plunket Society to help them to provide infants' clothes, and each branch of thß Society has been isked to contribute to this object. It has been decided to hold an entertainment en April 15 to raise money for the purchase of material for this object. The entertainment to take the form of a garden party, with tea, side shows, etc., if the weather permits, but should the weather be unsuitable, an indoor entertainment is to be held in the supper room of the Town Hall, •ihd be carried out as nearly as possible on similar lines.
