Mutton. —Fair demand. North Island 5 I-Sd, ordinary quality s:jd. ewes 5 7-16 d. Lamb.' —Good demand. All lambs other than Canterbury 7®d for best quality, second grade 7 3-Bd. Beef.—Good demand continues. Hindquarters (5 9-lfid, forequarters (3 l-16d. chilled hindquarters 7 ; }d, forequarters Old. Butter. —Market steady, prices firmer at the close. Danish 130/ to 136/-; New Zealand, good demand, market steadier, 128/- to 130/-, exceptionally 132/-, unsalted 132/- to 131/-; Australian 126- to 130/-; Siberian 1225- to .124/; Argentine 126/ to 130/-, Cheese.—Market steady. White and coloured 89/- to 92/-; New Zealand, good demand, market firmer, white and coloured 87/- to 89/-; English, market remains firm, 94- to 100/-; Australian, white and coloured 84/- to .87/-; United States, 82/- to 85/-. Hemp.—Market not qite so firm; there is loss demand, holders not anxious to sell. New Zealand, goodfair grade £3l; fair grade £29; fancurrent Manila £35; forward shipments selling at same prices. The output from Manilla for the week was 30,000 bales. Wool. —Market stronger, all stocks advancing. Americans buying Merinos freely. The estimated value of fine crossbreds of all grades is 151 d to 174 d; medium crossbreds, all grades, 14M to 161 d; coarse crossbreds, all grades, 134 d to 154 d; superior merinos, 134(1 to 15d; medium merinos, lid to 13d; inferior merinos, Sd to 104(1. Wheat. —Market slightly weaker, with less demand for forward delivery ,owing to prospect of the Dardanelles releasing Russian supplies.
