TAIHAPE TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

—' The Taihape Technical School Committee realises the importance and the benefits to be derived from Technical education, but parents and those whose interests are superintended by the committee have displayed a lethargic attitude towards supporting an institution which has been established for their educational elevation. The Technical School needs more pupils and the committee, in its endeavours to popularise the school and place its advantages before these concerned in a lucid manner, has solicited the assistance of Mr Fred Pirani, chairman of the Education Board, and Mr J." Matthews, direc. tor of Technical Education in the southern portion of the Board’s district. Beth gentlemen have displayed a perpetual interest in the welfare of the- rising generation and intimated their willingness to assist the local committee. To this end a public meeting will be held in the Technical School next Monday evening to hear addresses by Mr Pirani, and Mr Matthews on subjects appertaining to Technical Education. In other centres business people and the general public take a pride in the operations of Technical School pupils and an interest in the school’s general welfare. It is to be hoped that local citizens will not be behind those of other towns in this respect now that their, obligations have been pointed out to them,
