It is qutie probable that intending exhibitors at the Feilding Show; to be held on February 2nd and 3rd, have confused the- date of closing entries with the Ram Fair, and assuming this the committee have decided, to extend the date of receiving entries until Friday next, 22nd inst., when they will positively close. For ring competitions valuable trophies are offered, viz., Boys’ Pony Jump, £5 5/-; Girls’ Pony Jump, £.5 5/-; Steelechase, £ls 15/-; Ladies’ Hunters’, £l2 12/-; Open Jump, £25; Lady Driver, £5 5/-; in addition to the prize money, which is very liberal. Ponies, hacks, harness horses and draughts have been allotted a large amount of prize money, and there is a £lO 10/. cup for the best Lady’s hack. For cattle the Association is offering a gold medal for fat bullock; Stockbreeders’ Veterinary Chest, for most points in pedigrees, silver cup £lO 10/-, for Holstein cow; silver cup £lO 10/. for Jersey bull; gold medals for Ayrshire bull and,cow; £5 5/- cup and £3 3/- cash for most points in dairy classes. The trophies offered for sheep are too numerous to particularise, and embrace specials for fat sheep, lambs, flock sheep, and purebreds. Pigs, home industries,, fruit, vegetables, and art needlework for the. ladies (two special prizes), make up a very comprehensive schedule, which the secretary will forward on application.. Ram Fair entries close on Tuesday. 19th inst.
