As one wanders about these limitless wards of the stricken (says a correspondent of The Times, describing- a visit to a Russian hospital) one is increasingly impressed by what the human being can stand, and. still, with modern medical treatment, - recover from. One man that we saw had been shot through the head quite cleanly, •\nd in two weeks was practically well. Others shot through- the abdomen, stomach, bladder, lungs, and, in fact, all parts considered vital twenty years ago, were recovering as smooth- |; ly as though to b*e shot were a part of -iheWdinary man's day of work.
