The police received -word from Queenstown to-night that Winifred Nellie Seott ; aged three years, wn» burned to death through her clothes igniting.
FOUND IX DYING- CONDITION..
PALMERSTON N., Dec. 22,
An unidentified man was found in the main street last night, in a serious condition, and was taken to the police station. : Medical aid was summoned, but he succumbed before the doctor arrived.

INVERCARGILL, Dec. 23
At Queenstown a three-year-old girl, Winifred Scott, was burned to death through her clothes catching fire. .
At the inquest on William McCaw, resident of Waimatuku, the coroner found that death was due to a gunshot wound, self-inflicted, while :ln a fit of temporary insanity.
