PICTURE THEATRES. A large house witnessed the screening of the Ncrdisk masterpiece, “Votes for Women” at the Station Street Theatre last night. This modern drama proved exceedingly entertaining - , being a story dealing with the militant suffragette movement. It is a photoplay of exciting episodes mingled with deep pathos. The remaining portion of the programme proved to be of a very high order and intensely interesting.
An interesting drama, “The Masked j Dancer” featured on a splendid proj gramme at the Three Stars Theatre j last night. This grand star is a VitaI graph production telling how a young t mining expert, although fond of his wife, is caught in the meshes of a fascinating danseuse who is plotting to win his affections and incidently his gold. The young wife is deeply dejected by her husband’s shortcomings, but plans to bring about reconciliation., She disguises herself as a masked dancer and makes a great hit amongst the men of the music hall. She succeeds in captivating her husband who deserts the danseuse to pay court to his wife. The danseuse becomes bitterly jealous and causes the masked dancer to be kidnapped. The husband suddenly discovers that the mysterious dancer is hi s own wife and immediately rushes to the rescue. After many exciting episodes he succeeds in the rescue, and the desired reconciliation follows. The remainder of the programme was also of a most
