Best wools well maintained recent rates. There were heavy withdrawals of faulty sorts. Prices realised were: Con .13Id to 12}cl, Yano 13-ld to 11 5-Sd, Ayoca KUd to S 7-Sd, Evesham 231 d to 221 d, Muttarroo lOd to 9 3-Sd, Beltana Did 1 o Slid: New Zealand, Gear 231 d to IS 7-Sd.

WELLINGTON, Dec. 11
Messrs. Lcvio and Company report as follows: —The second sale of the season was held to-day, 20,000 bales being offered. bur catalogue representing 5.574 bales. We had a large entry of good wools, supplies coming from as far as the Waikato in the North Island and Nelson, Marborough and West Coast districts in the Mouth Island. There was again a good attendance of buyers. Competition was confined to the Bradford quarter. It was keen, but on a lower basis than the November sales. Best crossbreds showed a drop of -cl to lid; medium, coarse and inferior Hi to ;}d. Pieces were in go.-l demand at last sale rates. Lamb’s wool sold well at up to 19kl. The fa 1 ! in prices may be to a. small extent a..mounted foi by the heavier condition of (lie wool, but doubtless there is not tin? necessity with larger offerings owing to late shipments to pay the starvation prices current in November.
