VALEDICTORY.

AIR. lAN MACK AY. Last night members of “ The Taihape Times ” staff met to bid farewell to Mr. lan A. Mackay, who is severing his connection with, the paper as editor, a position lie lias hold for upwards of twelve months. The manager, Mr. H. E. Hill on behalf of the staff presented Mr Mackay with a handsome case of l.oe'.ve pipes, at tiie same time eulogising the good fellowship that existed between the recipient and the rest of the staff, and wished him the best of health and success in the future. These remarks were endorsed by others of.the staff. Mr. Mackay responded, thanking them for their generous gift and kind Avords accompanying it and stated his extreme regret at parting Avith so many good friends. The gathering concluded with the singing of “ For he’s a jolly good follow Mr. Mackay leaves for Wellington on Saturday week.
