CASHIER ADMITS CRIME

EMBEZZLEMENT OF £491 Press Associatioii MASTERTON, Tuesday. Detective Jarrold today arrested Gordon Frederick Scandrett, a married man, residing in Masterton, on a charge of embezzlement of £491 3s 6d while lie was employed by the YVairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Limited, at its Masterton office as cashier.

The accused appeared before Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty. He was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for' sentence. The defalcations occurred ov*y a period of 10 months.
