R. Parsons, of Halifax, Canada, is a visitor to Auckland, and is staying at Hotel Cargen. Mrs. H. T. Johnson, of Victoria Avenue, and her mother, Airs. E. A. King, are visiting Hamilton. i CLOSE OF PAKURANGA CLUB’S SEASON The final meet of the season of the Pakuranga Hunt Club held yesterday afternoon was celebrated with a very happy dance party at the residence of Air. W. C. Alartin, Wiri, last evening. Alisses Constance and Evelyn Alartin acted as hostesses a.nd were assisted by Airs. Will McLaughlin. The evening was spent in dancing and the singing of hunting choruses. Airs. McLaughlin was gowned in a slim-fitting frock of green tulle, with silver embroideries. Aliss C. Martin had chosen tea rose pink chiffon and Aliss C. Alartin wore ciel blue faille. Among the guests were: Airs. T. 11. Oakes, Airs. Rutherford, Airs. AlcCormick, ATrs. Quartley, Atrs. Grierson, Mrs. McGregor Grant, Airs. Price, Airs. Smith. Airs. Watkins, Airs. OPERETTA PERFORMED AT EPSOM INFIRMARY
Colourful and gay scenery, picturesque frocks, sweet singing and graceful dancing characterised the performance of the operetta “Princess Chrysanthemum,” at the Epsom Infirmary on Monday evening. The entertainment was organised by the Rev. H. M. Smyth, M.A., vicar of St. Peter’s Church, Onehunga. under the auspices of the Onehunga branch of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, and was given by the members of St. Peter’s Girls’ Club. The cast included the following: Princess Chrysanthemum. Aliss J. Fleming; Emperor, Aliss AI. Elsmore; Prince So-True, Aliss AI. Maylor; Prince So-Fli, Mrs. Ellis; Saucer Eyes, Aliss Bertie Smith; Fairy Moonbeam, Miss U. Churches; Po Po, Aliss K. Brittain; Yum Yum, Miss B. Phipps; Du Du, Aliss F. Phipps; Tu-Lips, Aliss P. Pillinger; Top-Not, Miss J. Putt; Emperor’s attendant. Miss D. Cunningham. The pretty chorus girls, sprites of the night and fairies all helped to make the entertainment one of the most successful yet provided for the inmates. Mrs. J. Neill acted as accompanist.
DANCE PARTY TO CELEBRATE COMING-OF-AGE
A most enjoyable evening was spent at the Gaiety Hall, Surrey Crescent, on Saturday, when a coming-of-age party was held in honour of Aliss Iris Milham, daughter of Mr. and Airs. T. Milhaxn, of Virginia Avenue, Eden Terrace. The dance music was played by the Ritz Jazz Band. Airs. Alilliam received her guests in amber chiffon velvet, with diamente trimmings. Miss Iris Milham was in salmon pink satin beaute, dipping in four points to the ankles, and trimmed with true lovers’ knots of silver ribbon. Among the guests were: Airs. J. Coultas, in green shot taffeta; Mrs. J. Kennedy, black georgette, with diamente trimmings; Aliss Ivna Milham, powder blue crepe de chine, dipping to the ankles; Aliss lona Milham, pale blue embossed rayon; Aliss Nellie Coultas, pink georgette, with uneven hem; Aliss Evelyn Coultan, lemon crepe de chine, dipping at the back; ATiss Khoda Shields, pink rayon taffeta, with circular flare; Aliss Sylvia Harford, cyclamen taffeta; Miss Esme Day, tinsel frock, with georgette overskirt; Airs. R. Balfour, black georgette; Miss Anne Grant, green silk lace; Aliss Kathrine Kennedy, green crepe de chine.
