REMOVAL FROM QUEEN STREET BUSINESS MEN’S PLEA The City Central Progress League asked the Transport Board this morning to remove tram poles from Queen Street. “At various meetings of this leagu A the opinion has been expressed tb? r removal of centre poles from Quee i Street would not only reduce the risk of accident, but would to a very larg extent relieve the congestion that occurs, especially at peak-load periods, said the league. “The executive therefore respec - fully suggests that the Tronspo--Board Treat this matter as urgent, and would be glad if the board could sa: j about when the work *s likely to w put in hand. , “The league will be only too pleas* to co-operate with the board in obtar ing permission from property owr®* to have overhead wires suspenae from buildings.
