TWO BRITISH TALKIES A dOLible feature programme is the current attraction at the Roxy Theatre, consisting of “Flame of Love” and “Song of Soho.” The clever Chinese actress, Anna 1 May Wong, makes u successful debut into talking pictures in “Flame of Love,” a tense dramatic and romanticproduction. The story deals with the infatuation of a Russian duke of the pre-Revolution days for a Chinese dancer in a travelling troupe. “Song of Soho” is a typical London story with the famous restaurants of Soho as a background. Carl Brisson takes the leading role. Several talking featurettes are included in the programme. CRYSTAL PALACE. MOUNT EDEN The latest offering from Miss Ruth Chatterton is “Sarah and Son.” wherein this remarkably gifted actress deserts the realm of light drama and subtle comedy for what is undoubtedly her forte, emotional drama. “Sarah and : Son” is at the Crystal Palace Theatre. I With three leading men. and young I Phillipe de Lacy as her son. Miss I Chatterton has surrounded herself ; with a wealth of histrionic talent by which, however, she is never over- | shadowed. DIXIELAND CABARET Another of the bright dances for which the Dixieland Cabaret is famous will be held this evening, when dancing will be continued to a late hour to music by the Dixieland Dance Band.
