CAMBRIDGE HORSE FAIR

STEADY DEMAND RECORDED From Ovr Own Correspondent CAMBRIDGE. Friday. The Cambridge Spring Horse Fair, organised by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, was continued yesterday and again today, with the balance of the broken draughts. Th<* sale has been marked by large attendances each day, and in view of all the circumstances and conditions it is rather surprising that the demand has been so consistent and the prices so good over the whole of the sale. This year's fair was well organised and the greater number of the 800 horses catalogued have been placed under the hammer expeditiously. There were no unusually high sales effected since the last report, a sixyear grey mare sold by E. Tozer to J. Gee fetching £3B Tos. Mr. X. Banks of Cambridge, sold a nice 3-year-old bay gelding to R. Knight, Auckland, for £37. good sales were a 4-year-old bay gelding to H. Torpou, £ 3;>. Six-year bay and and roan geldings to AV. Luxton and E. Rogers for £35.: 4-year black mare to R. Trough ton, £36. A number of 4 to 6-year-olds sold from £3O to £34. Good sorts averaged about £l6. Less likely, £lO to £l2. A few inferior entries were passed In, but the number of entries passed in over the whole uf the sale has been surpri singly low.
