The somewhat unusual sight of a ; burglar apologising to the man he | had robbed and thanking the police ! was witnessed in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court this morning when William Victor Has lam, a clerk, aged 23 years, admitted break- ! ing and entering the residence of Mr. ! P. S. Larcomb. On being committed to the Supreme • Court for sentence, accused said to Mr. Larcomb from the dock: “l wish to express my apologies to ! you for any inconvenience I may have l caused you. and to the detectives and : police 1 wish to express my sincere ! thanks for the way they have treated
