IN HURRICANE’S TRACK
ISLAND OF DOMINICA SUFFERS DAMAGE SIX NATIVES KILLED 1 British Official Wireless ■Reed. Noon. RUGBY, Tuesday. According to further reports received by the Colonial Office, the position at the island of Dominica, which was struck by the recent West Indian hurricane, is more serious than was at first thought. Six natives hJve died, and serious damage was done to public buildings, roads, and telephones. Expenditure on immediate relief for the purchase of food and for repairs of buildings has been authorised, and a local subscription list has been opened. Offers of assistance from the Governments of Jamaica and the Windward Islands have been accepted.
