SPRING FLOWER SHOW
DISPLAY AT DARGAVILLE From Our Oxon Correspondent DARGAVILLE, Saturday. The Largaville Spring Flower and Industrial Show, under the auspices of Holy Trinity Ladies’ Guild, was held at the Theatre Royal today ajid proved very successful in every way. The weather lately has been cold and wet, but this did not seriously affect the display of blooms. The principal awards were:
Mrs. B. S. Angus won outright the late Mr. F. J. Dargaville’s trophy for most points in the bulb class; Mrs. Tristam Wakelin won the Wairoa Store's trophy for most points in the industrial section: Mrs. B. S. Angus’s trophy for most points in the decorative section was won by Mrs. W. A. Peterson: Miss Audrey Cliffe won Mrs. A. E. Reynolds’s trophy for most points in the children’s section.
The judges were: Mrs. W. O’Malley (decorative). Mesdames B. Coleman and H. Massey (industrial), and Mr. J. A. McLean (cut flowers). The following stewards also assisted: Mesdames B. S. Angus and W. A. Peterson (cut flowers). Mrs. C. S. Rush (decorative), and Mesdames Eric French and J. Dempsey (industrial). Miss M. H. Harding was secretary.
