ST. PATRICK’S POPULAR GIRL CONTEST
FUNDS FOR PARISH SCHOOL The Popular Girl contest which has been conducted in connection with St. Patrick's Church during the past few months was concluded last week with a social evening and dance in the Manchester Unity Hall. Bishop Liston presided over a good attendance. By means of the contest, £1,452 had been collected. Bishop Liston had donated £4B to bring the total amount up to £1,500, which sum would be available for the building of a parish schooL Great interest was taken in the announcement of the winners, who were: Mies Kathleen Molloy, 1; Miss Bertha Watson, 2; Miss Rita Page, 3. The drawing of the raffles was carried out by the three queens and by Bishop Liston, briefly spoke, thanking all concerned for their work, and particularly Dr. Buxton.
