100,000 HOMELESS
VILLAGES SUBMERGED AS RIVER FLOODS FAMINE THREAT IN INDIA Reed. 10.40 a.m. DELHl,,Friday. It is estimated that 100,000 persons were rendered homeless by the overflowing of the river Brahmaputra. Many villages are completely submerged, and stores, grain and cattle have been washed away. Rail and road communications have been cut off by the floods and famine and disease are feared.
