BADMINTON RESULTS
TOURNEY AT WANGANUI AUCKLANDERS DOING WELL Press Association WANGANUI, Friday. Play in the New Zealand badminton championships was continued today. In the final of the men’s championship singles, Earle (Wanganui), will meet Rish worth (Auckland) tomorrow, and Miss J. Ramsay (Auckland) will meet Miss M. Waters (Auckland) in the final of the ladies’ championship singles. In the final of the men’s doubles, Austin and Meredith (Wanganui) will meet Earle (Wanganui) and Fossette (Wellington). The final of the ladies’ doubles will be between Miss El.ett and Miss Solomon (Auckland) and Mrs. Austin and Miss Wilson (Wanganui). The results of today’s games were: Men’s Singles.—First round: Earle beat Kissling, 15—9, 15—8; Austin beat Rogers. 15 —9. 15 —12. Second round: Ellett beat Colegrove, 15—6, 6 —15. 15—4; Meredith beat Hay-Campbell, 15—5, 12—15, 15—10; Robinson beat Rish worth, 15 —6, 13 —15, 15—6. Semifinals: Earle beat Ellett, 18 —14, 10— 15, 15—5; Rish worth beat Meredith, 15—5, 10—15, 15—8.
Men's Doubles.—Semi-final: Austin and Meredith (Wanganui) beat Colegrove and Langguth (Auckland), 15— 14, 15 —7; Earle (Wanganui), and Fossette (Wellington) beat Ellett and Rishworth (Auckland), 10 —15, 15 —6, 15—9.
Women’s Singles.—Second round: Miss Stringfellow beat Miss Capey, 11—2, 11—7: Miss Ellett beat Miss K. Waters, 11 —1, 11 —8; Miss M. W r aters beat Miss Cowper by default. Third round: Miss Ramsav beat Miss Stringfellow, 11—2, 11—4; Miss Ellett beat Miss Solomon. 11 —5, 11—5; Miss M. Waters beat Mrs. Clarke by default; Miss Macfarlane beat Miss Nathan. 11—2, 11 —0. Semi-final: Miss Ramsay beat Miss Ellett. 21—4. 11 —7; Miss M. Waters beat Miss Macfarlane, 11—5, 11 — 6.
Women’s Doubles.—Second round: Misses K. and M. Waters beat Mrs. Clark and Miss Capey, 15 —5, 15—4; Airs. Austin and Miss Wilson beat Miss Nathan and Miss Innis, 15-—5. 18 —ls. Semi-final: Airs.
