Marist Bros. Meet Richmond
R DOPE’S ROOSTER, the popular and unique football trophy for the Auckland Rugby League’s senior end-of-season knockout competition, will lift its head and crow again at Carlaw Park tomorrow afternoon, when the first round oi the 1930 competition for the trophy will be played.
The chief attraction of the afternoon will be the meeting of last season’s champion of champions team. Marist, with Richmond o.n the No. 1 ground at 3.15. Marist hopes to be pretty well at full strength again,, although Phil Brady is not yet out’ of hospital and will be missing from the centre position. It is likely that Brisbane, the star of the Kiwis in Australia, will be playing again, and Richmond will be sure to be out to lower the colours of last season’s best team. The championship winner, Ponsonby. will play Elierslle on the No. 3 ground at 3.15, and the curtain-raisers on No. 1 anil No. 2 grounds respectively will be Kingsland v. City and Devonport v. Newton.
