DOG ALWAYS BARKING
COUNCIL ASKED TO STOP IT Alleging that the barking of a dog, on private property, “had got on their nerves,” a number of Narrow Neck residents petitioned the Devonport Borough Council last evening for relief. Mr. F. T. Eyre, who lives at Narrow Neck, said he had heard all the story; the dog owner alleged that his small dog whined because “things were thrown at it.” He did not think that the trouble would continue; he, personally, was more interested in sewers. Mr. T. Walsh; Does the sewer bark? Mr. G. Falla: It hums! Mr. W. S. Campbell added mirth by relating similar trouble that had developed in North Devonport. Some time ago, he had called on the owner of the offending dog and had a talk; since then the dog had ceased barking. A Councillor: Perhaps it could understand Scottish! The petitioners are to be informed tlx# council cannot lielp them.
